Five Heavenly Years

It's my son's fifth birthday today, finally! I can actually tell him "yes, it's your birthday today A'dnin". My son has been asking us everyday whether "today" was his birthday ever since we attended a friend's birthday party three months back. And for three months he has been pestering us to have his birthday much earlier. His birthday wishes too changed from day to day. He initially requested for a Superman cake, then it was the Fantastic four cake, a few days after it was the Batman cake. The only thing that has been consistent in his wish was his birthday present. He has been asking for the Star wars light saber for years now. We never got one for him probably because we knew he liked to experiment with his toys by throwing them from the second floor of our house..weee gedebush! "Hey, ma, look it didn't break!" He'd proudly squeal. Well not all his toys survived the fall, most only lasted for a few days. Since the Light Saber was way out of our budget range, we didn't want to take the risk. But now, he has grown to be a more understanding little boy. He is learning to appreciate his belongings and also trying not to throw them around, that's what he promised us. And for that we got him the Light Saber! There was also this one time when we were visiting a relative at this very expensive apartment (Armani something) when my son spotted a light saber lying unattended on the playground. I was seated not far from where he was standing. He picked it up and was admiring it with awe when suddenly a bigger boy just popped out from nowhere and yanked the sword from him with that scowl look followed by a few other boys accusing him of stealing. He was petrified, shocked, dismayed by the boys' sudden outburst. He didn't cry, all he could muster "I was just looking at it!" and walked back towards me. Honestly, I was the one who felt like crying. I couldn't bear seeing him in that situation. I hugged him and promised that I would save some money to get the exact one for his birthday.

Well, today he received his birthday gift with so much joy. He finally decided to have a spider man cake, the similar one I made for a customer days ago. There were no fancy parties, no balloons, no friends, no party hats. It was just a quite celebration with mama, baba, kakak and a small spiderman cake with spider man stickers, lots of hugs and kisses and of course his long overdue new Light Saber.
My Luke Skywalker is fast asleep now, and I bet he is sleeping soundly with the Force near him beaming with pride.

Wiz,that's the way it is, celebrate his birthday well, give him the best and all the love but do not send him to a boarding school. Only home could give him the best eduction and love as well.

Happy birthday Adnin from Atuk.

Have a nice day and take care.

Salina, for getting number One is his school he got the transformers robot from me. He has been rewarded for that already eventhough the robot was made in China one, he was equally happy ha ha ha.

Pak Idrus - Thanks for dropping by. I don't intend to send him to a boarding school, his father thinks otherwise, but will try to keep him near me as long as possible. With his allegies and all it's difficult to let him be on his own. I'm just a paranoid mother aren't I?
